When I started PicPanda only 5 months ago in April I never planned on monetizing it for the pure purpose that I hate advertisements on free internet tool websites such as image hosting. I am and always will be against charging people for upgrading their account. Anyone can register an account for free and everyone gets unlimited bandwidth and storage. Seems all fine and dandy right?
Well heres where the problem arises. I am a full-time student working part-time with little money to spend on other things so paying for server expenses every month is not always easy. What I am thinking about doing is offering a single ad placement. I am not sure where yet because I like the minimalism of the site and don’t want to make it look like shit with a bad ad placement.
I decided to take a look at the AwStats today since I haven’t in a while and I was pleased so see PicPanda continuing to grow. PicPanda receives an average 100,000 visitors and 500,000 page views per month. I think that’s pretty impressive for a image hosting site that I made only 5 months ago and have not spent any money advertising on.
