I blog because I like to write and have an outlet for what I'm thinking. Lst's face it, spouses, family, friends have no interest in hearing about this stuff but the people who read my blog have a similar mindset as myself. It's just an outlet and I have a lot of fun doing it.

For most affiliate marketers (especially who use CPA networks) blogging is a complete waste of time. Unless you are driving traffic to an landing page on your blog in which you wouldn't unless you were trying to offset ad cost with advertising sales on the blog.

And as far as personal blog, it's totally a waste unless you were trying to turn it into a different business all together. And You should talk about whatever you want on your personal blog, who cares what others think.

I blog because I work at home, alone, and my dog is pretty boring to talk to. In a typical office, I'd have people to complain to, or share stories... being self-employed, nobody I work with on a regular basis wants to hear that. Blogging is my water-cooler.

I also blog to help people. Instead of always complaining, or talking about what I just did, I try to post informative stuff, like my post on geotargeting.

What I can't stand are bloggers who blog, only to get people to sign up under their network referral ID.

BTW, Bryn, I was looking for you at the 202 Meetup in Vegas but didn't see you. I spotted you once in the Exhibit Hall, but you were busy & I figured I'd catch you later. Hopefully I'll see you in Toronto in a few months.

I blog because I use it as a diary to look back at what I did and where my mistakes are. When I am strategizing, I blog because it helps me put my ideas into words and that opens up a whole different view of things.

It is sort of like speaking your ideas out loud. Even if you are talking to a mirror or a wall, sometimes talking out loud just opens up your mind. Very helpful.

Melvins last blog post..Trouble getting approval for affiliate networks?

Why do I blog. Well yes sharing is one reason I like to do it. Some people besides the normal bloggers read my blog. Personal friends do also. I think it will be neat in a few years to read what you write also.

I just love the whole idea of writing and seeing whether people enjoy it or not. Then it turned to seeing how much I could improve my writing.
