I set 3 goals at the beginning of the year and accomplished them before half of the year was over.
When I think about it now my goals seemed a little crazy (even more so to friends and family who saw them too).
The 3 goals I set to accomplish within a year was to do over a million in sales, buy a new car and buy a new house. I still can’t believe how quickly I did all of those…this industry is nuts.
I am just starting to realize that I have become lazy again because I forgot to set NEW goals.
I look at my whiteboard every day, and yeah it has notes and things to do but no goals anymore. It’s like I don’t have a deadline and that is a bad thing for me. I need to be pushed, even if I have to do it myself.
So today I am going to set 3 new goals — I’m not going to reveal what they are…maybe I will once I accomplish them.
Morale of the story; always be setting goals, when you accomplish one make another.

I found that after I got my new car, I thought it would provide me with the motivation actually seeing a reward but it did quite the opposite.
Recently I have been planning out a daily routine and plan of action to accomplish each week which seems to be helping.
I am also wanting to go to the next affiliate summit in Vegas in January, I have set a goal to achieve before the end of the year and if I hit it, I’ll go – if not, I won’t. Hopefully it will be enough to kick my ass in gear š

From my point of view you should set goals that you cannot achieve; and never set goals related to material things, like buying a car or a house. This things will come along, you don’t need to focus on them.

For some people sure, but in my stage of life I had a crap car and was living at home…so my goal was to make enough money to buy a house and a new car…now I am moving onto other things. Plus the goals are a reward for me making more money. If I didn’t make more money I wouldn’t be able to afford or do my goals.

Congrats on the goals. Realize that many are not able to get to the level you are at. So the industry is only nuts if you know how to work it.

How about ‘giving x to charity by x’.
Knowing you saved peoples lives is far more rewarding than looking at a lex in your driveway.

Yeah, goals are super important. I always write down my goals and have achieved all of them to date. I believe in the “law of attraction”, and writing down your goals is essential if you want success in life. I cannot stress it enough…. Great blog, reading it for few months now.

For me it always helps to announce my goals publicly. If not on the blog, at least to people in my circle. Public commitment is a powerful thing and is much better than writing something down privately. If you do it privately you’ll still be tempted to readjust your goals.

Not saying you’ve not. Dude, i meant it in a positive way and glad you’ve reached your goals.
Just saying, when I reached my goals and had the material things, I didn’t feel accomplished. I did when I gave to charity/gave back to the community.
I’m not a hater.. i swear ha. Keep doin what you’re doin.

It’s always funny to read sour grapes from others who haven’t hit their own goals (if they had any), and offer “advice”.
IMO we set our own glass ceilings and work as hard as we need to achieve them. Setting something challenging always gets me excited.
Onwards and upward and here’s to you setting you next set of “impossible” goals!
