I actually agree with Danger Brown here. My grandfather was an Old Spice fan and it seems like every other old man he hung around had the same stuff on lol While the campaign is great, is it actually selling more product? Branding is only good if it's converting. I'm sure the campaign was developed to help change people's perspective, but not sure how much can change by this campaign.

It was a superb campaign, but since I was a little kid, I always associated Old Spice with elderly men. I've still never used it. Even when someone gave me a gift package for Christmas one year. I gave it to someone else.

Quality is key and having a great idea mixed with persistence goes a long way. Always test on friends first (you have more than you think!). Bless - Dr N

This ad is so good and so many people like it. It went viral so quickly and people are still watching it. Also the way they made the video is also a big hit now.

It's amazing the ideas people will come up with. Endless opportunity on the Internet for great ideas. This is just another example of the ingenuity stemming from it.

[...] THIS is how you do viral marketing – Bryn got to posting it before I could do it. Old spice’s youtube videos are SO AWESOME. They made an awesome set of commercials and then followed up with the same guy from the commercial responding to twitter comments made to @OldSpice using youtube. People like Kevin Rose (Digg Founder), Alisa Milano, and many other celebrities sent a tweet to @OldSpice and they responded. Really awesome idea! [...]

The original ad from the Super Bowl was already a great ad, and then this campaign took it to the next level. No doubt we are going to see other big brands try to do something similar, and they are going to have a hell of a time duplicating what Old Spice has done here.
