I just read this article about a 49 year old woman who made a fake Myspace account pretending to be a teenage boy. Now if that isn’t disturbing enough she used the fake account to harass a 13 year old girl named Megan Meier on Myspace with comments like “the world would be a better place without you”. The 13 year old girl, Megan, hanged herself in her closet later that day.

In May, a grand jury indicted the woman, Lori Drew, 49, under the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, used in cases in which hackers gain access to information stored on protected computers. It is the first time that statute will be used in a social networking case
People like this just make me sick. It’s pretty sad when a 49 year old woman is harrassing a 13 year old on the internet.
