So some of you may have noticed my blog and other websites were down earlier today (from about 730am-2pm EST). I received an email this morning from my website host telling me they had to do some “emergency maintenance” which should take less than an hour. Not too big of a deal I thought…considering they have always been great whats an hour of downtime? Well noon rolled around and I decided to call them to see what was up. At first I got some really rude lady who wasn’t helpful at all and I later called back around 1 and finally got a hold of someone useful who explained to me that the technicians came across some problems transferring the users to the new servers. He told me they were transferring my server and all my data right now and within about 30 minutes my sites were back online.
I was a bit mad during the day because of all the traffic I have coming in it’s not pleasant when a new visitor sees “sorry this page is unavailable”. But oh well thats life and shit happens. At least everything is all good now and I don’t plan on bashing my web host because they have always been good to me in the past and probably have the best support i have ever come across (mostly talking about their live chat that always has people on it 24/7).
