That, to me, is the biggest mental obstacle in affiliate marketing.

This is one of those things in life that you can’t teach people by telling them ahead of time. Good times always will overshadow any warning of bad news. “nah…that stuff only happens to other people…not me”. The only way to truly learn this is to feel the pain from it.

Also – this reminds me again about the book “Who Moved My Cheese?” It’s a short, good little book about how we as humans can better learn to adapt to sudden changes. Learn how things that seem unexpected might not have been so unexpected if we had paid better attention and stay prepared no matter what.

I remember those days like it was yesterday. Affiliate marketing can be a tough business at times and there is always the possibility of things going bad quickly. It’s happened to all of us. I’ve been a long-term planner and throughout my career I’ve always made a point diversify. The more you focus on diversification, the less likely you’ll be suffer when that one Advertisers cuts you from their offer. When one offer is successful, don’t quit. Instead, find another opportunity with a new Advertiser or even in a new niche.

Best of Luck!

It suck’s having a campaign so scaled up to the point where its unbelievable profitable and just have it taken from you in one day. It sucks, buts it’s all the more reason for you to deliver high quality leads to your advertisers, they need to make money too!

I’ve read posts on this topic before and was blinded to it’s advice when I seen profits coming in, I think every affiliate needs to experience this scenario for themselves to truly be cautionary to it with future campaigns.

The more planning and long-term thinking you do, the longer your business will last…
