A few people were recently having this discussion over at the C2M irc chat and I wanted to share my views and see others opinions on how they define success.
I would personally define success as financial freedom, which for me basically means not having to worry about money.
I have big dreams and I plan on reaching them in time but as a base for success that’s how I see it.
At the age of 21 I can proudly say I am financially successful based on my view of success as a whole.
Whats your definition of success?

For me its not worrying on how im going to pay my next phone bill, Thinking if the interac purchase will go through at walmart lol, you get the idea.

when you twitter from your black berry that youre going to the fanciest restaurant on the east coast but you don’t want to go out because you have papercuts on your hands from countin all your money.

For me success means balance between needs and wants, work and life, money and health. Being financially freedom alone is not going to bring happiness in life. We should strive for balance. Money is good but are you willing to risk your health for it? Are you willing to risk your relationships for it? Those are some of the questions everyone has to answer once they reach that point.

Success for me = just knowing I am on the right path; the right track doing what I want to do…the rest will fall into place with determination.

I am in full agreement with you. If you still have to worry about paying your bills, then you’re not yet successful. If you have more than enough money for that, and to have other stuff as well, then all’s the better.

Having too much money can also be a worry.
In a previous life I used to be a financial adviser, and one of the customers I had won the lottery and ended up with $8 million dollars.
She was worried and called it a “problem” when we spoke on the phone. She got dozens of begging letters from friends and family and even though she gave a lot of people financial help, many criticized her for being stingy.
Goes to show you can’t win whatever you do.
