I usually take a look at youtube once a day to see if theres anything interesting on the days popular videos and today I came across something pretty amazing.
Old Spice has 17 out of 23 videos on the first page…holy shit. 74% of the first page is all old spice videos.
This campaign is just pure genius by old spice on so many levels.

Old Spice has nailed it with that campaign. It would be interesting to see how their sales have been affected.

The advertising firm behind that campaign is definitely making bank, great marketing idea, and I’ve already started to see spoofs popping up all over the net.
The only question is how can we use this to enhance our affiliate campaigns? 😮

OldSpice set very good example getting to people on a personal level & using Kevin Rose other celebrity made this a very awesome way to use social media.

The original ad from the Super Bowl was already a great ad, and then this campaign took it to the next level. No doubt we are going to see other big brands try to do something similar, and they are going to have a hell of a time duplicating what Old Spice has done here.

It’s amazing the ideas people will come up with. Endless opportunity on the Internet for great ideas. This is just another example of the ingenuity stemming from it.

I’m not a youtube guy, but will have to visit it more frequently to spot such great ideas. Thanks for putting the info on your blog.

This ad is so good and so many people like it. It went viral so quickly and people are still watching it. Also the way they made the video is also a big hit now.

Quality is key and having a great idea mixed with persistence goes a long way. Always test on friends first (you have more than you think!). Bless – Dr N

It was a superb campaign, but since I was a little kid, I always associated Old Spice with elderly men. I’ve still never used it. Even when someone gave me a gift package for Christmas one year. I gave it to someone else.

I actually agree with Danger Brown here. My grandfather was an Old Spice fan and it seems like every other old man he hung around had the same stuff on lol While the campaign is great, is it actually selling more product? Branding is only good if it’s converting. I’m sure the campaign was developed to help change people’s perspective, but not sure how much can change by this campaign.
