Are you looking to get involved in affiliate marketing? Perhaps you have already tried some stuff but have not had that much success. If this sounds like you then read on because I have some tips that may help you.
There’s no doubt that you can make a lot of money doing affiliate marketing. I personally think PPC is the best way to promote affiliate offers but everyone has their own opinion and different things work for different people.
Finding An Offer That Works
This might seem like a no brainer but it might not be exactly what you think. Choosing good offers is really a trial and error thing. You can’t just expect an offer to convert and be profitable because your affiliate network says it is. Here is two methods you can use to find an offer that works:
- Test, test and test. Do everything you can think of to test the offer out, change your landing page around or even try sending direct traffic to the offer. If you don’t test how will you ever know?
- Look at what other people are advertising. For instance I know people making good money just copying others facebook ads and promoting the same product. If you notice someone promoting something for over a week it’s likely they’re profiting off it so why not try it yourself.
It’s really a shot in the dark when it comes to finding offers that convert well for you. Some of my most profitable offers have been ones I never expected to get a sale or lead. The feeling you get when you find one is incredible (atleast for me). As soon as I find one I optimize it until I can’t do any more and then I throw as much money at it as I can.
Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For A Raise
Just like in the working world there’s times where you may ask your boss for a raise. When it comes to your affiliate manager, NEVER be afraid to ask for a higher payout. I wouldn’t say you can just ask for it at first but if you start to get some conversions then send your affiliate manager an email asking for a bit of a raise. Even if it’s minimal like 10% it’s better than you were getting before. They want you to keep promoting the offer so it’s very unlikely an AM is going to reject your request for a payout raise. They set the default payouts lower for a reason, because they know people will ask for a raise.
Monitor Your Campaigns Daily
I’ve heard many horror stories of people going on vacation for a week to come back and find out they sent $10,000 of clicks to their landing page that was offline the entire time. If you don’t believe me read Neil’s story. Which actually leads me into another thing, get a dedicated server or make sure your hosting company has a good uptime record. Theres nothing worse than looking at your affiliate network and seeing no clicks meanwhile you’re spending thousands on google adwords and wondering whats happening. If you are going on vacation and aren’t going to have access to internet I would recommend either lowering your spending per day or pausing your campaigns just incase. It’s all up to what your risk tolerance is though.
Choose A Reliable Affiliate Network
Choosing a reliable and good network is one of the most if not the most important thing when it comes to affiliate marketing. The last thing you want to do is get mixed up with a sketchy network that scrubs your leads.
My 3 favorite networks I use the most are:
I would recommend signing up for all 3 above and seeing what each one has to offer and go from there.
Now get out there and start making some money!
